Through a blend of portrait-style and documentary photography, I preserve the feeling of presence between horses and riders. More than capturing a moment, I believe horse & rider portraits should convey the meaningful details of your partnership: the closeness, the resonance, and the authenticity. I approach with guided direction so that you feel confident and look your best, while also stepping back to let natural interactions unfold. Whether you choose to smile at the camera or remain completely focused on your horse, I ensure your presence is felt and elevated in each photograph.

The day of your session is structured like an organized hangout with your horse. While you spend quality time together, I manage the artistry to align every detail to your vision. You and your horse already hold a meaningful presence, which is all I need to deliver refined, lived-in imagery. Click below for a detailed timeline of my process, from inquiry to your final gallery.
No two horse and rider partnerships are the same, which is why I center my work around what feels most comfortable and true to you. The quality of your images does not ride on your discipline, photoshoot experience, or your horse's quirks. My portraits honor your authenticity, however that looks for you.
Hi! I'm Keira. I'm here to give horse & rider partnerships an authentic space to be seen.
My experience with riding led me to appreciate the bond with our horses more than the sport itself. Then, photography introduced me to all kinds of horses and riders who share one thing in common: a unique presence that defines their connection. I honor this meaning by preserving it in imagery that is both true to feeling and visually refined.
I love the craftsmanship aspect of photography, including managing the details you don't want to worry about: capturing you at the perfect angle, monitoring your horse's comfort, and even training your non-equestrian friend to perk your horse's ears. Think of me as your director on set with many compliments to give!
Whether you want traditional portraits or a documentary edge, I preserve the feeling of closeness to your horse. (Your horse is alive in these photos, not just a prop!) I keep your horse engaged and attentive, capturing your emotions as they naturally unfold. When connection is present, the classic, smiling photo is equally stunning as a candid moment.
Even unplanned "candids" should feel purposeful, not out of place. You want photos that feel real, but that doesn’t mean you want every awkward expression that comes with it. This is why I guide you to interact with your horse in organic, flattering positions. These poses look effortless and feel true to you. You'll never be guessing where to stand, yet always be allowed to express yourself authentically.
“Outstanding photographs with careful attention to detail. Keira was courteous and competent, ensuring that my horse and I were at ease and self-assured. She captured us in ways I never would have thought possible, and I am incredibly delighted with both the experience and the final product."
“I had the best experience working with Keira! She is so sweet, professional, and beyond talented. I loved every session I had with her, and I was blown away by how beautiful everything turned out. She made me feel comfortable and confident, and she was always so flexible and cooperative with scheduling and ideas. Her passion truly shows through her work, and I couldn’t recommend her enough, she truly has a gift!"
